New Client FAQs

Answers to common questions from attorneys new to working with Godoy Medical Forensics.

What types of cases do you review?

We review both criminal and civil cases including child abuse, assault, homicide, DUI, medical malpractice, personal injury, workers’ compensation, and elder abuse.

Do I need a doctor or can a nurse suffice?

For many cases, a forensic nurse provides thorough analysis and compelling testimony at lower rates than most physicians. We also have physicians and toxicologists available when needed.

What is a Merit Screen?

A Merit Screen is a cost-effective pre-read of medical records to determine case merit by identifying breach in standard of care or causation issues.

How do I submit a new case?

Contact us by phone at 925-425-7182 or use our contact form. Please include the defendant name so we can perform a conflict check.

Do you work with both prosecution and defense?

Yes. We work with prosecutors, defense attorneys, and plaintiff’s attorneys and strive to provide unbiased, honest analysis.

What geographic areas do you serve?

Our forensic nurse experts serve attorneys nationwide. We have testifying experts in the San Francisco Bay Area, near Baltimore, and in Southwest Florida.
